Liam's Beginner Music Theory Workshop
“Music theory can be a complicated aspect of playing the guitar and many beginners don't know where to start. In this introductory workshop I will provide students with the foundational knowledge that can give them an entry point to understanding their instrument at a deeper level.”
In this workshop we will go over the following topics

Scales
- chromatic,
- major
- minor
- Pentatonic

Chords
- Major chords
- Minor chords
- Power chords
- Octaves
- What suspended and non standard chords mean

Keys
- how to turn a scale into the chords in a key
- how all keys follow the same pattern
- Relative major and minor keys

Modes
- how changing the tonal center of a key can create a different feel to the key
We will include hands-on exercises so please bring your guitar as we will practice scales, turning scales into chords, building keys, playing different modes.
